Cycle route in Blauwe Tramstraat

The current plan is very undesirable.

As mentioned by someone else, the plan reduces the meadow and the losloop area for dogs walkers, families and nature. Potgieterlaan is already used as a speedway for bicycles and mopeds - it is already dangerous for pedestrians and dogs - mopeds should be banned, not encouraged.

The other side of the railway, the Blouwe Tramstraat is a quiet road because it has access to only a few houses at the end, and it is as wide as Potgieterlaan. It is non-residential - bordered by a car park.

A tunnel behind the block of flats would mean cycles would not pass through the Schrijverspark and onto the Potgieterlaan; instead the cyclist would emerge onto the Blouwe Tramstraat and the cyclists/mopeds would not be at risk of being hit by a car - or hitting a child or dog. The nature would remain intact and unharmed. It would also connect the residents of Blouwe Tramstraat with Schrijverspark so they could enjoy the parl's facilities.
