Better lighting and fewer obstructions on pediestiation crossing

too many times cars have not stopped or had to stop hard for pedestraisn on this crossing because they cannot see them at night. Pedestrians stand behind the lamp post on the south bound side and cannot be seen by cars, especially if they are wearing dark clothes. The lamp is badly placed and the crossing needs more visibility (not flashing lights etc, but a way for drivers to see those waiting to cross).
